Harness - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning: The side impact airbag deployment depends on the front door sensor's ability to detect a side impact from air pressure. Make sure that there are no uncovered holes in the front door shells. Additionally, always reinstall plugs or tape when servicing or inspecting the front doors and their components.

Remove

  1. Open the LH rear door.
  2. Place 2 pieces of masking tape vertically over the rear LH door glass and outer belt.
  3. Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the LH rear door inner belt seal from the rear door. See Seal - Inner Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the rear LH door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH rear window motor regulator assembly. See Window Motor / Regulator Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH rear door latch.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH rear door exterior release handle.
  9. Release the clips that attach the LH rear door harness to the LH rear door.
  10. Release the grommet, and then push the LH rear door harness through the inner door harness port.
  11. Release the tabs (x4) that attach LH rear door harness seal to the B-pillar.
  12. Disconnect the LH rear door harness connector from the LH body harness.
  13. Release the LH rear door harness seal from the front of the LH rear door.
  14. Push the LH rear door harness through the front inner door harness port, and then remove the harness from the vehicle.
1Open the LH rear door.
2Place 2 pieces of masking tape vertically over the rear LH door glass and outer belt.
3Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
4Remove the LH rear door inner belt seal from the rear door. See Seal - Inner Belt - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
5Remove the rear LH door glass. See Glass - Door - LH - Rear (Remove and Replace).
6Remove the LH rear window motor regulator assembly. See Window Motor / Regulator Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
7Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH rear door latch.
8Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH rear door exterior release handle.
9Release the clips that attach the LH rear door harness to the LH rear door.
10Release the grommet, and then push the LH rear door harness through the inner door harness port.
11Release the tabs (x4) that attach LH rear door harness seal to the B-pillar.
12Disconnect the LH rear door harness connector from the LH body harness.
13Release the LH rear door harness seal from the front of the LH rear door.
14Push the LH rear door harness through the front inner door harness port, and then remove the harness from the vehicle.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
