Remove

  1. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the cabin intake duct. See Duct - Cabin Intake (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the hood latch cover. See Cover - Hood Latch (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the intermediate shaft to the steering rack assembly, and then slide the intermediate shaft upwards.
  7. Remove the LH and RH instrument panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove front passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the driver seat and front passenger seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  14. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  15. Remove the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Install).
  16. Remove the LH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Remove the center console. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  18. Remove the front passenger knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the LH and RH end caps. See End Cap - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Remove the main instrument panel decor trim. See Decor Trim - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
  21. Remove the glove box. See Glove Box (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the RH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
  23. Remove the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  24. Remove the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
  25. Remove the restraint control module. See Module - Restraint Control (Remove and Replace).
  26. Remove the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (Remove and Replace).
  27. Remove the vent finisher. See Finisher - Vent (Remove and Replace).
  28. Remove the LH and RH air wave ducts. See Duct - Air Wave - RH (Remove and Replace) and Duct - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).
  29. Remove the instrument panel speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  30. Remove the LH, center, and RH dash speakers. See Speaker - Dash - LH (Remove and Replace) and Speaker - Dash - Center (Remove and Replace).
  31. Remove the front passenger airbag. See Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Install).
  32. Remove the IP carrier. See IP Carrier (Remove and Install).
  33. Disconnect the electrical harness from the steering column connector.
  34. Release the steering shaft boot from the bulkhead, and then pull it up from the bulkhead.
  35. Remove the nuts that attach the steering column to the cross car beam.
  36. Lower the steering column, and then remove the steering column from the vehicle.

6Remove the bolt that attaches the intermediate shaft to the steering rack assembly, and then slide the intermediate shaft upwards.

8Remove the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
9Remove the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
10Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
11Remove the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
12Remove front passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
13Remove the driver seat and front passenger seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
14Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
15Remove the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Install).
16Remove the LH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
17Remove the center console. See Center Console (Remove and Install).

30Remove the LH, center, and RH dash speakers. See Speaker - Dash - LH (Remove and Replace) and Speaker - Dash - Center (Remove and Replace).
31Remove the front passenger airbag. See Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Install).
32Remove the IP carrier. See IP Carrier (Remove and Install).
33Disconnect the electrical harness from the steering column connector.
34Release the steering shaft boot from the bulkhead, and then pull it up from the bulkhead.
35Remove the nuts that attach the steering column to the cross car beam.
36Lower the steering column, and then remove the steering column from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Put the steering column in the vehicle for installation.
  2. Install the nuts that attach the steering column to the cross car beam.
    Torque 15 Nm
  3. Install the steering shaft boot into the bulkhead.
  4. Connect the electrical harness to the steering column connector.
  5. Install the IP carrier. See IP Carrier (Remove and Install).
  6. Install the front passenger airbag. See Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the LH, center, and RH dash speakers. See Speaker - Dash - LH (Remove and Replace) and Speaker - Dash - Center (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the instrument panel speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH air wave duct. See Duct - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the RH air wave duct. See Duct - Air Wave - RH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the vent finisher. See Finisher - Vent (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the restraint control module. See Module - Restraint Control (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
  15. Install the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the RH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the glove box. See Glove Box (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the main instrument panel decor trim. See Decor Trim - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH and RH end caps. See End Cap - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the front passenger knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  21. Install the center console. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  22. Install the front passenger seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  23. Install the LH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).
  24. Install the driver knee airbag. See Airbag - Knee - Driver (Remove and Install).
  25. Install the driver seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  26. Reconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  27. Install front passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  28. Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  29. Install the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  30. Install the LH and RH instrument panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  31. Slide the intermediate shaft downwards into the steering rack assembly.
    Note: With an assistant, align the intermediate shaft to the steering rack, if necessary.
  32. Install the bolt that attaches the intermediate shaft to the steering rack assembly.
    Torque 18 Nm
  33. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  34. Install the hood latch cover. See Cover - Hood Latch (Remove and Replace).
  35. Install the cabin intake duct. See Duct - Cabin Intake (Remove and Replace).
  36. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  37. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
1Put the steering column in the vehicle for installation.
2Install the nuts that attach the steering column to the cross car beam.
Torque 15 Nm
3Install the steering shaft boot into the bulkhead.
4Connect the electrical harness to the steering column connector.
5Install the IP carrier. See IP Carrier (Remove and Install).
6Install the front passenger airbag. See Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Install).
7Install the LH, center, and RH dash speakers. See Speaker - Dash - LH (Remove and Replace) and Speaker - Dash - Center (Remove and Replace).
8Install the instrument panel speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace).
9Install the LH air wave duct. See Duct - Air Wave - LH (Remove and Replace).
10Install the RH air wave duct. See Duct - Air Wave - RH (Remove and Replace).
11Install the vent finisher. See Finisher - Vent (Remove and Replace).
12Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (Remove and Replace).
13Install the restraint control module. See Module - Restraint Control (Remove and Replace).
14Install the steering wheel. See Steering Wheel (Remove and Install).
15Install the driver airbag. See Airbag - Driver (Remove and Replace).
16Install the RH footwell duct. See Duct - Footwell - LH (Remove and Replace).

26Reconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
27Install front passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
28Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
29Install the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
30Install the LH and RH instrument panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
31Slide the intermediate shaft downwards into the steering rack assembly.
Note: With an assistant, align the intermediate shaft to the steering rack, if necessary.
32Install the bolt that attaches the intermediate shaft to the steering rack assembly.
Torque 18 Nm
33Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
