Remove

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  3. Recover the A/C refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
    Note: Recover the refrigerant while continuing this procedure.
  4. Remove the superbottle cap.
  5. Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  6. Position a coolant drain under the superbottle.
  7. Release the clip and disconnect the powertrain supply hose at the lower LH side of the superbottle.
    Note: Allow the coolant to drain from the superbottle.
  8. Release the clip and disconnect the battery return hose from the rear left of the superbottle.
  9. Release the clip that attaches the battery return hose to the superbottle.
  10. Disconnect the electrical harness from the powertrain pump to sill hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
  11. Release the clip and disconnect the powertrain pump to sill connector hose from the rear right of the superbottle.
  12. Disconnect the electrical harness from the superbottle level sensor connector.
  13. Disconnect the electrical harness from the 5-way valve actuator connector.
  14. Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the lower LH side of the superbottle.
  15. Disconnect the electrical harness from the chiller and EXV assembly hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
  16. Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then remove the electrical harness from the hose.
  17. Release the clip that attaches the battery vent hose to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then remove the battery vent hose from the chiller and EXV assembly hose.
  18. Release the clip and disconnect the coolant hose from the chiller and EXV assembly.
  19. Release the clip and disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the front left of the superbottle.
  20. Release the clip and disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the front right of the superbottle.
  21. Disconnect the electrical harness from the HV battery coolant pump connector.
  22. Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the suction liquid line.
  23. Disconnect the electrical harness from the powertrain coolant pump connector.
  24. Disconnect the electrical harness from the chiller and EXV assembly connector.
  25. Disconnect the electrical harness from the low pressure transducer connector.
  26. Remove the bolt that attaches the suction/liquid line bracket to the shock tower brace, and then separate the bracket from the brace.
1Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
2Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
3Recover the A/C refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
Note: Recover the refrigerant while continuing this procedure.
4Remove the superbottle cap.
5Remove the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
6Position a coolant drain under the superbottle.
7Release the clip and disconnect the powertrain supply hose at the lower LH side of the superbottle.
Note: Allow the coolant to drain from the superbottle.
8Release the clip and disconnect the battery return hose from the rear left of the superbottle.
9Release the clip that attaches the battery return hose to the superbottle.
10Disconnect the electrical harness from the powertrain pump to sill hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
11Release the clip and disconnect the powertrain pump to sill connector hose from the rear right of the superbottle.
12Disconnect the electrical harness from the superbottle level sensor connector.
13Disconnect the electrical harness from the 5-way valve actuator connector.
14Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the lower LH side of the superbottle.
15Disconnect the electrical harness from the chiller and EXV assembly hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
16Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then remove the electrical harness from the hose.
17Release the clip that attaches the battery vent hose to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then remove the battery vent hose from the chiller and EXV assembly hose.
18Release the clip and disconnect the coolant hose from the chiller and EXV assembly.
19Release the clip and disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the front left of the superbottle.
20Release the clip and disconnect the radiator outlet hose from the front right of the superbottle.
21Disconnect the electrical harness from the HV battery coolant pump connector.
22Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the suction liquid line.
23Disconnect the electrical harness from the powertrain coolant pump connector.
24Disconnect the electrical harness from the chiller and EXV assembly connector.
25Disconnect the electrical harness from the low pressure transducer connector.
26Remove the bolt that attaches the suction/liquid line bracket to the shock tower brace, and then separate the bracket from the brace.

Note: Make sure that the refrigerant has fully recovered before continuing this procedure.

  1. Remove the bolt that attaches the suction/liquid line to the chiller and EXV assembly, and then remove the line from the chiller and EXV assembly.
  2. Remove and discard the o-rings from the suction/liquid line fitting.
  3. Release the clip that attaches the suction/liquid lines to the superbottle.
  4. Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the superbottle.
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the superbottle to the shock tower brace.
  6. Remove the nuts that attach the superbottle to the shock tower brace, and then remove the superbottle from the vehicle.
1Remove the bolt that attaches the suction/liquid line to the chiller and EXV assembly, and then remove the line from the chiller and EXV assembly.
2Remove and discard the o-rings from the suction/liquid line fitting.
3Release the clip that attaches the suction/liquid lines to the superbottle.
4Release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the superbottle.
5Remove the bolt that attaches the superbottle to the shock tower brace.
6Remove the nuts that attach the superbottle to the shock tower brace, and then remove the superbottle from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the superbottle to the shock tower brace, and then install the nuts that attach the superbottle to the shock tower brace.
    Torque 8 Nm
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the superbottle to the shock tower brace.
    Torque 8 Nm
  3. Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the superbottle.
  4. Install the clip that attaches the suction/liquid lines to the superbottle.
  5. Install new o-rings onto the suction/liquid line fitting, install the suction/liquid line fitting into the chiller and EXV assembly, and then install the bolt that attaches the suction/liquid line to the chiller and EXV assembly.
    Torque 5.5 Nm
  6. After installing the assembly, refill the refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
    Note: Perform installation of components removed concurrently with refrigerant refill.
  7. Install the suction/liquid line bracket onto the shock tower brace, and then install the bolt that attaches the bracket to the brace.
    Torque 5.5 Nm
  8. Connect the electrical harness to the low pressure transducer connector.
  9. Connect the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly connector.
  10. Connect the electrical harness to the power train coolant pump connector.
  11. Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the liquid suction line.
  12. Connect the electrical harness to the HV battery coolant pump connector.
  13. Connect the radiator outlet hose to the front right of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
  14. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the front left of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
  15. Connect the coolant hose from the chiller and EXV assembly, and then fasten the clip.
  16. Install the battery vent hose to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then fasten the clip that attaches the battery vent hose to the chiller and EXV assembly hose.
  17. Install the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the hose
  18. Connect the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
  19. Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the lower LH side of the superbottle.
  20. Connect the electrical harness to the 5-way valve actuator connector.
  21. Connect the electrical harness to the superbottle level sensor connector.
  22. Connect the powertrain pump to sill connector hose to the rear right of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
  23. Connect the electrical harness to the powertrain pump to sill hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
  24. Fasten the clip that attaches the battery return hose to the superbottle.
  25. Connect the battery return hose to the rear left of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
  26. Connect the powertrain supply hose at the lower LH side of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
  27. Remove the coolant drain from under the vehicle.
  28. Install the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  29. Connect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
    Note: Do not install the rear apron at this time.
  30. Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle.
  31. Using Toolbox, run the 5-way valve actuator self-test, "TEST-SELF_VCFRONT_X_FIVE-WAY-VALVE."
    Note: This Toolbox routine tests and calibrates the 5-way valve actuator.
  32. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
  33. Perform a cooling system vacuum refill. See Cooling System (Vacuum Refill).
  34. After the A/C refrigerant recharge has fully completed, verify the operation of the A/C system.
  35. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
1Install the superbottle to the shock tower brace, and then install the nuts that attach the superbottle to the shock tower brace.
Torque 8 Nm
2Install the bolt that attaches the superbottle to the shock tower brace.
Torque 8 Nm
3Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the superbottle.
4Install the clip that attaches the suction/liquid lines to the superbottle.
5Install new o-rings onto the suction/liquid line fitting, install the suction/liquid line fitting into the chiller and EXV assembly, and then install the bolt that attaches the suction/liquid line to the chiller and EXV assembly.
Torque 5.5 Nm
6After installing the assembly, refill the refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge).
Note: Perform installation of components removed concurrently with refrigerant refill.
7Install the suction/liquid line bracket onto the shock tower brace, and then install the bolt that attaches the bracket to the brace.
Torque 5.5 Nm
8Connect the electrical harness to the low pressure transducer connector.
9Connect the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly connector.
10Connect the electrical harness to the power train coolant pump connector.
11Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the liquid suction line.
12Connect the electrical harness to the HV battery coolant pump connector.
13Connect the radiator outlet hose to the front right of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
14Connect the radiator inlet hose to the front left of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
15Connect the coolant hose from the chiller and EXV assembly, and then fasten the clip.
16Install the battery vent hose to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then fasten the clip that attaches the battery vent hose to the chiller and EXV assembly hose.
17Install the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly hose, and then fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the hose
18Connect the electrical harness to the chiller and EXV assembly hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
19Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the lower LH side of the superbottle.
20Connect the electrical harness to the 5-way valve actuator connector.
21Connect the electrical harness to the superbottle level sensor connector.
22Connect the powertrain pump to sill connector hose to the rear right of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
23Connect the electrical harness to the powertrain pump to sill hose coolant temperature sensor connector.
24Fasten the clip that attaches the battery return hose to the superbottle.
25Connect the battery return hose to the rear left of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
26Connect the powertrain supply hose at the lower LH side of the superbottle, and then fasten the clip.
27Remove the coolant drain from under the vehicle.
28Install the front aero shield. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
29Connect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
Note: Do not install the rear apron at this time.
30Connect a laptop with Toolbox to the vehicle.
31Using Toolbox, run the 5-way valve actuator self-test, "TEST-SELF_VCFRONT_X_FIVE-WAY-VALVE."
Note: This Toolbox routine tests and calibrates the 5-way valve actuator.
32Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
33Perform a cooling system vacuum refill. See Cooling System (Vacuum Refill).
34After the A/C refrigerant recharge has fully completed, verify the operation of the A/C system.
35Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
