Remove

  1. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  2. Open the trunk, and then use the bump stop removal tool to remove the LH trunk stop.
    Caution:
    Do not use other tools to pry at the trunk stop as this could damage the taillight or trunk stop.
  3. Remove the trunk floor trim. See Trim - Floor - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH 2nd row seatback. See Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the trunk side trim.
  8. Disconnect the electrical harness from the taillight connector.
  9. Remove the nuts that attach the taillight to the vehicle.
  10. Remove the taillight assembly from the vehicle.
    Tip: Lift the trunk seal for better clearance.
  11. Remove and discard the grommets from the vehicle.

2Open the trunk, and then use the bump stop removal tool to remove the LH trunk stop.
Caution:
Do not use other tools to pry at the trunk stop as this could damage the taillight or trunk stop.
3Remove the trunk floor trim. See Trim - Floor - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
4Remove the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
5Remove the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
6Remove the LH 2nd row seatback. See Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Install).
7Remove the trunk side trim.
8Disconnect the electrical harness from the taillight connector.
9Remove the nuts that attach the taillight to the vehicle.
10Remove the taillight assembly from the vehicle.
Tip: Lift the trunk seal for better clearance.
11Remove and discard the grommets from the vehicle.

Install

  1. If the taillight is to be reinstalled, replace the gaskets from around each taillight mounting bolt (x2) and the taillight electrical connector (x1).
  2. Install new grommets onto the vehicle.
  3. Position the LH taillight studs into the grommets, and then install the taillight onto the vehicle.
    Note: Reseat the trunk seal over the LH taillight.
  4. Install the nuts that attach the taillight to the vehicle.
    Torque 3.2 Nm
  5. Connect the electrical harness to the taillight connector.
  6. Install the trunk side trim.
  7. Install the trunk sill trim. See Trim - Sill - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH 2nd row seatback. See Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Install).
  9. Install the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the trunk floor trim. See Trim - Floor - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
  12. Use the bump stop removal tool to install the LH trunk stop.

8Install the LH 2nd row seatback. See Seat Back - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Install).
9Install the LH 2nd row seat side bolster. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
10Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
11Install the trunk floor trim. See Trim - Floor - Trunk (Remove and Replace).
12Use the bump stop removal tool to install the LH trunk stop.
