Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Open the LH rear door, and fully lower the window.
  2. Remove the LH rear door puddle light. See Puddle Light - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release the clip that attaches the screw cover to the front of the LH rear door armrest, and then remove the screw cover from the armrest.
  4. Remove the screws that attach the trim panel to the door.
    Torque 6 Nm
  5. Pull out on the trim panel from the puddle light opening to release the clips that attach the trim panel to the door.
    Caution:
    Do not remove the trim panel from the door at this time.

  6. Continue to pull and release all of the clips around the edge of the trim panel, working from the bottom up.
    Caution:
    Do not remove the trim panel from the door at this time.
  7. Detach the manual release cable, disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the connectors, and then release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the trim panel.
    Caution:
    Do not remove the trim panel from the door at this time.

  8. Raise the trim panel up to unhook it from the door, and then remove the panel from the door.
1Open the LH rear door, and fully lower the window.
2Remove the LH rear door puddle light. See Puddle Light - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
3Release the clip that attaches the screw cover to the front of the LH rear door armrest, and then remove the screw cover from the armrest.
4Remove the screws that attach the trim panel to the door.
Torque 6 Nm

5Pull out on the trim panel from the puddle light opening to release the clips that attach the trim panel to the door.
Caution:
Do not remove the trim panel from the door at this time.
6Continue to pull and release all of the clips around the edge of the trim panel, working from the bottom up.

Do not remove the trim panel from the door at this time.

7Detach the manual release cable, disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the connectors, and then release the clip that attaches the electrical harness to the trim panel.
Caution:
Do not remove the trim panel from the door at this time.
8Raise the trim panel up to unhook it from the door, and then remove the panel from the door.

Install

  1. Inspect the condition of the LH rear door and the LH rear door trim panel. Replace any broken clips and repair any damage.
  2. Bring the trim panel to the door, and rest it on the door edge.
  3. Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical wiring harness to the trim panel.
  4. Connect the short wire off of the electrical harness to the speaker.
    Warning: If the door light connector is plugged into the speaker, the speaker is permanently damaged and might cause melting. Do not interchange the electrical harness speaker connector and door light connector.
  5. Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear door trim panel connectors.
  6. Lift the trim panel, compress the LH rear door inner belt seal slightly, and hook the three trim panel tabs into the top edge of the door.
  7. Move the electrical harness connector for the puddle light out the hole in the bottom of the trim panel.
  8. Install the LH rear door puddle light. See Puddle Light - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Make sure that the puddle light and map pocket ambient light illuminate when connected.
  10. Fasten the clips that attach the trim panel to the door.
  11. Make sure that the trim panel fits tightly, and that there are no gaps from misaligned or bent clips.
  12. Install the screws that attach the LH rear door trim panel to the LH rear door.
    Torque 6 Nm
    Note: Make sure that all fasteners are properly torqued and not cross-threaded.
  13. Install the screw cover to the front of the armrest.
  14. Raise the window and close the door.
1Inspect the condition of the LH rear door and the LH rear door trim panel. Replace any broken clips and repair any damage.
2Bring the trim panel to the door, and rest it on the door edge.
3Fasten the clip that attaches the electrical wiring harness to the trim panel.
4Connect the short wire off of the electrical harness to the speaker.
Warning: If the door light connector is plugged into the speaker, the speaker is permanently damaged and might cause melting. Do not interchange the electrical harness speaker connector and door light connector.
5Connect the electrical harness to the LH rear door trim panel connectors.
6Lift the trim panel, compress the LH rear door inner belt seal slightly, and hook the three trim panel tabs into the top edge of the door.
7Move the electrical harness connector for the puddle light out the hole in the bottom of the trim panel.
8Install the LH rear door puddle light. See Puddle Light - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
9Make sure that the puddle light and map pocket ambient light illuminate when connected.
10Fasten the clips that attach the trim panel to the door.
11Make sure that the trim panel fits tightly, and that there are no gaps from misaligned or bent clips.
12Install the screws that attach the LH rear door trim panel to the LH rear door.
Torque 6 Nm
Note: Make sure that all fasteners are properly torqued and not cross-threaded.
13Install the screw cover to the front of the armrest.
14Raise the window and close the door.
