Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the LH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH rear brake rotor. See Brake Rotor - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH rear hub. See Hub - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH rear brake dust shield. See Shield - Dust - Brake - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the bolt that attaches the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor to the knuckle.
  8. Release the clip and remove the grommet that attach the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor cable to the rear knuckle and bracket.
  9. Remove the LH rear suspension cover. See Cover - Rear Suspension - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install a spring compressor onto the LH rear coil spring.
    Note: Make sure that the spindle will go through the body opening when the LH rear suspension is compressed.
  11. Position a 3/4 ton support stand underneath the LH rear suspension.
  12. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH sway bar link to the LH rear suspension knuckle, and then remove the link from the knuckle.
    Note: Counter-hold the ball joint wih a 5 mm hex wrench.
  13. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
    Torque 134 Nm

  14. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
    Torque 76 Nm

  15. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH toe link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
    Torque 76 Nm

  16. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear lower fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
    Torque 76 Nm

  17. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear aft lower link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
  18. Remove the LH rear suspension knuckle from the vehicle.
1Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
2Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
3Remove the LH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
4Remove the LH rear brake rotor. See Brake Rotor - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
5Remove the LH rear hub. See Hub - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
6Remove the LH rear brake dust shield. See Shield - Dust - Brake - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
7Remove the bolt that attaches the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor to the knuckle.
8Release the clip and remove the grommet that attach the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor cable to the rear knuckle and bracket.
9Remove the LH rear suspension cover. See Cover - Rear Suspension - LH (Remove and Replace).
10Install a spring compressor onto the LH rear coil spring.

11Position a 3/4 ton support stand underneath the LH rear suspension.

14Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.

15Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH toe link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.

16Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear lower fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.

17Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear aft lower link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
18Remove the LH rear suspension knuckle from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the LH rear suspension knuckle on the rear suspension.
  2. Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear aft lower link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
  3. Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear lower fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
  4. Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH toe link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
  5. Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
  6. Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
  7. Hand tighten the nut that attaches the LH sway bar link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
    Note: Counter-hold the ball joint wih a 5 mm hex wrench.
  8. Remove the support stand from underneath the LH rear suspension.
  9. Install the clip and grommet that attach the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor cable to the rear knuckle and bracket.
  10. Install the bolt that attaches the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor to the knuckle.
    Torque 5 Nm
  11. Install the LH rear brake dust shield. See Shield - Dust - Brake - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the LH rear hub. See Hub - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH rear brake rotor. See Brake Rotor - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Hand-tighten the nuts that attach the rear hub jack adapter to the LH rear hub.
  15. Position a support stand underneath the LH lower rear control arm, and then raise the support stand to simulate vehicle at ride height.
  16. Use the rear ride height torque gauge to verify that the suspension is set within ride height specification.
    Note: Might need to adjust the support stand or spring compressor tool slightly.
  17. Measure the distance between the bottom of the quarter panel to the center of the rear axle to make sure that the rear suspension is set to ride height: The distance should measure 378 mm.
  18. Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear aft lower link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

  19. Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear lower fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.
    Torque 76 Nm

  20. Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH toe link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

  21. Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

  22. Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.
    Torque 134 Nm

  23. Tighten the nut that attaches the LH sway bar link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.
    Torque 55 Nm
  24. Remove the support stand from underneath the LH rear suspension.
  25. Remove the rear hub jack adapter from the LH rear hub.
  26. Install the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.
    Torque 5 Nm
  27. Remove the spring compressor from the LH rear coil spring.
  28. Install the LH rear suspension cover. See Cover - Rear Suspension - LH (Remove and Replace).
  29. Install the LH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  30. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
  31. Perform four wheel alignment (check and adjust) procedure. See Four Wheel Alignment (Check and Adjust).
1Position the LH rear suspension knuckle on the rear suspension.
2Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear aft lower link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
3Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear lower fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
4Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH toe link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
5Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
6Hand-tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
7Hand tighten the nut that attaches the LH sway bar link to the LH rear suspension knuckle.
Note: Counter-hold the ball joint wih a 5 mm hex wrench.
8Remove the support stand from underneath the LH rear suspension.
9Install the clip and grommet that attach the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor cable to the rear knuckle and bracket.
10Install the bolt that attaches the rear LH ABS wheel speed sensor to the knuckle.
Torque 5 Nm
11Install the LH rear brake dust shield. See Shield - Dust - Brake - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
12Install the LH rear hub. See Hub - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
13Install the LH rear brake rotor. See Brake Rotor - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
14Hand-tighten the nuts that attach the rear hub jack adapter to the LH rear hub.
15Position a support stand underneath the LH lower rear control arm, and then raise the support stand to simulate vehicle at ride height.
16Use the rear ride height torque gauge to verify that the suspension is set within ride height specification.
Note: Might need to adjust the support stand or spring compressor tool slightly.

20Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH toe link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

21Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

22Tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

23Tighten the nut that attaches the LH sway bar link to the LH rear suspension knuckle. Mark the bolt with a paint pen.

24Remove the support stand from underneath the LH rear suspension.
25Remove the rear hub jack adapter from the LH rear hub.
26Install the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.
Torque 5 Nm
27Remove the spring compressor from the LH rear coil spring.
28Install the LH rear suspension cover. See Cover - Rear Suspension - LH (Remove and Replace).

30Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
