Caution:
Brake fluid dissolves paint. Have clean towels and plenty of water standing by to wash spilled brake fluid off painted surfaces.
Note:
Dispose of used brake fluid in a manner consistent with local environmental codes.

| 2 | Remove all 4 wheels. See Wheel (Remove and Install). | ||
| 3 | Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 4 | Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 5 | Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect). | ||
| 6 | Remove the cabin intake duct. See Duct - Cabin Intake (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 7 | Remove the hood latch cover. See Cover - Hood Latch (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 8 | Remove the underhood storage unit carpet. See Carpet - Underhood Storage (Remove and Install). | ||
| 9 | Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 10 | Remove the wiper arms. See Wiper Arms (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 11 | Remove the LH and RH shock tower covers. See Cover - Shock Tower - LH (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 12 | Remove the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace). | ||
![]() | 13 | Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake fluid reservoir. | |
![]() | 14 | Place absorbent towels under the brake fluid reservoir. | |
![]() | 15 | Clean the area around the brake fluid reservoir, and then remove the brake fluid reservoir cap. | |
| 16 | Use a brake fluid syringe to remove the brake fluid from the reservoir. | ||
| 17 | Install the brake fluid reservoir cap. | ||
![]() | 18 | Loosen the nuts that attach the brake lines to the booster, and then slide the nuts back on the brake lines. | |
![]() | 19 | Remove the nuts that attach the master cylinder to the brake booster. | |
![]() | 20 | Remove the master cylinder and reservoir assembly from the vehicle. Note: Make sure the master cylinder o-ring is also removed.

Install
Position the reservoir and master cylinder in the vehicle
![]() Align the brake booster rod with the master cylinder port
![]() | 1 | Position the master cylinder and reservoir assembly in the vehicle. Caution: Handle the electromechanical brake booster only by the main housing. Do not use the pushrod, the reservoir, or the connectors to lift or manipulate the electromechanical brake booster.
Caution: When positioning the brake master cylinder against the brake booster, make sure the booster rod goes into the master cylinder.

| 3 | Remove the brake line plugs from the brake master cylinder. | ||

| 5 | Remove the absorbent towels from under the brake fluid reservoir. | ||
![]() | 6 | Connect the electrical connector to the brake fluid reservoir. | |
| 7 | Install the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 8 | Install the LH and RH shock tower covers. See Cover - Shock Tower - LH (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 9 | Install the wiper arms. See Wiper Arms (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 10 | Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 11 | Install the underhood storage unit carpet. See Carpet - Underhood Storage (Remove and Install). | ||
| 12 | Install the hood latch cover. See Cover - Hood Latch (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 13 | Install the cabin intake duct. See Duct - Cabin Intake (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 14 | Connect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect). | ||
| 15 | Bleed the braking system. See Brake Fluid Bleed / Flush. | ||
| 16 | Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 17 | Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace). | ||
| 18 | Install all 4 wheels. See Wheel (Remove and Install). | ||
| 19 | Perform a test drive. |
