Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Use Toolbox to place the vehicle into EPB Service Mode. See Release Parking Brake Using Toolbox.
  3. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH rear brake caliper.
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the electrical harness bracket to the LH rear brake caliper.
  7. Position the oil drain under the LH rear brake caliper area.
  8. Remove and discard the bolt and 2x washers that attach the brake hose to the LH rear brake caliper.
  9. Remove and discard the bolts that attach the LH rear caliper bracket to the knuckle, and then remove the caliper from the vehicle.
1Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
2Use Toolbox to place the vehicle into EPB Service Mode. See Release Parking Brake Using Toolbox.
3Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
4Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
5Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH rear brake caliper.
6Remove the bolt that attaches the electrical harness bracket to the LH rear brake caliper.
7Position the oil drain under the LH rear brake caliper area.
8Remove and discard the bolt and 2x washers that attach the brake hose to the LH rear brake caliper.
9Remove and discard the bolts that attach the LH rear caliper bracket to the knuckle, and then remove the caliper from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install new bolts that attach the LH rear brake caliper bracket to the knuckle.
    Torque 83 Nm
  2. Install a new bolt and 2 new washers that attach the brake hose to the LH rear brake caliper.
    Torque 42 Nm
  3. Remove the oil drain from underneath the vehicle.
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the LH rear brake caliper.
  5. Install the LH rear brake caliper electrical harness clips.
    Torque 5 Nm
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove any wheel chocks, and then shift the vehicle into Park.
  8. Perform the bleed procedure for the LH rear brake caliper. See Brake Fluid Bleed - One Caliper.
  9. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
  10. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  11. Test drive the vehicle to confirm that the brake pedal feel is normal.
1Install new bolts that attach the LH rear brake caliper bracket to the knuckle.
Torque 83 Nm
2Install a new bolt and 2 new washers that attach the brake hose to the LH rear brake caliper.
Torque 42 Nm
3Remove the oil drain from underneath the vehicle.
4Connect the electrical connector to the LH rear brake caliper.
5Install the LH rear brake caliper electrical harness clips.
Torque 5 Nm
6Lower the vehicle.
7Remove any wheel chocks, and then shift the vehicle into Park.
8Perform the bleed procedure for the LH rear brake caliper. See Brake Fluid Bleed - One Caliper.
9Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel (Remove and Install).
10Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
11Test drive the vehicle to confirm that the brake pedal feel is normal.
