Remove

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH curtain airbag connector.
  4. Remove the bolts that attach the front and center portions of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
  5. Remove the bolts that attach the rear portion of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
  6. Carefully release the clips (x8) that attach the LH curtain airbag to the side rail, and remove the airbag from the vehicle.
    Warning: If any clips are damaged, the airbag must be replaced.
1Disconnect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
2Remove the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
3Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH curtain airbag connector.
4Remove the bolts that attach the front and center portions of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
5Remove the bolts that attach the rear portion of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
6Carefully release the clips (x8) that attach the LH curtain airbag to the side rail, and remove the airbag from the vehicle.
Warning: If any clips are damaged, the airbag must be replaced.

Install

  1. Install the LH curtain airbag to the side rail, and then carefully fasten the clips (x8) that attach the airbag to the side rail.
    Warning: If any clips are damaged, the airbag must be replaced.
  2. Install and hand-tighten the bolts that attach the rear portion of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
  3. Install and hand-tighten the bolts that attach the front and center portions of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
  4. Torque the bolts that attach the LH curtain airbag to the body.
    Torque 9 Nm
  5. Connect the electrical harness to the LH curtain airbag connector.
  6. Install the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
  7. Connect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
1Install the LH curtain airbag to the side rail, and then carefully fasten the clips (x8) that attach the airbag to the side rail.
Warning: If any clips are damaged, the airbag must be replaced.
2Install and hand-tighten the bolts that attach the rear portion of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
3Install and hand-tighten the bolts that attach the front and center portions of the LH curtain airbag to the body.
4Torque the bolts that attach the LH curtain airbag to the body.
Torque 9 Nm
5Connect the electrical harness to the LH curtain airbag connector.
6Install the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
7Connect 12V power. See 12V Power (Disconnect and Connect).
