Foam - Cushion - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the driver headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the side outer cover from the driver seat. See Cover - Outer Side - Driver Seat (Remove and Install).
  4. Release the clips that attach the inner side shield to the seat, and then pull the shield back to remove the shield from the seat.
  5. Remove the seat back shell from the seat. See Shell - Seat Back - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  6. Unhook the lower flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
  7. Unhook the upper flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
  8. Release the clips that attach the outboard side of the seat back cover to the seat back frame, and then expose the air bag connector.
  9. Disconnect the electrical harness from the driver side airbag connector.
  10. Disconnect the electrical harness from the recliner motor connector.
  11. Disconnect the electrical harness from the ECU connector.
  12. Disconnect the electrical harness from the lumbar pump connector.
  13. Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the seat frame.
  14. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the seat heater connectors.
  15. Release the clips that attach the seat heater connectors to the seat underside, and then separate the connectors from the seat underside.
  16. Remove the seatbelt buckle. See Buckle - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Remove and discard the bolts (x4) that attach the seat back to the seat cushion, and then remove the seat back from the cushion.
    Torque 43 Nm
  18. Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat occupied sensor connector.
  19. Release the clip that attaches the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then separate the sensor from the seat underside.
  20. Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat suspension.
  21. Release the clips (x3) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat cushion frame at the front, inboard, and outboard sides, and then remove the foam from the frame.
    Note: Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly does not catch on the seat suspension or frame.
1Remove the driver seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
2Remove the driver headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace).
3Remove the side outer cover from the driver seat. See Cover - Outer Side - Driver Seat (Remove and Install).
4Release the clips that attach the inner side shield to the seat, and then pull the shield back to remove the shield from the seat.
5Remove the seat back shell from the seat. See Shell - Seat Back - Driver (Remove and Replace).
6Unhook the lower flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
7Unhook the upper flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
8Release the clips that attach the outboard side of the seat back cover to the seat back frame, and then expose the air bag connector.
9Disconnect the electrical harness from the driver side airbag connector.
10Disconnect the electrical harness from the recliner motor connector.
11Disconnect the electrical harness from the ECU connector.
12Disconnect the electrical harness from the lumbar pump connector.
13Release the clips that attach the electrical harness to the seat frame.
14Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the seat heater connectors.
15Release the clips that attach the seat heater connectors to the seat underside, and then separate the connectors from the seat underside.
16Remove the seatbelt buckle. See Buckle - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
17Remove and discard the bolts (x4) that attach the seat back to the seat cushion, and then remove the seat back from the cushion.
Torque 43 Nm
18Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat occupied sensor connector.
19Release the clip that attaches the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then separate the sensor from the seat underside.
20Release the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat suspension.
21Release the clips (x3) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat cushion frame at the front, inboard, and outboard sides, and then remove the foam from the frame.
Note: Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly does not catch on the seat suspension or frame.

Install

  1. Install the seat cushion foam to the seat cushion frame, and then fasten the clips (x3) that attach the foam to the frame at the outboard and inboard sides, and at the front.
    Note: Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly passes through the seat suspension or frame.
  2. Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat suspension.
  3. Install the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then fasten the clip that attaches the sensor to the seat underside.
  4. Connect the electrical harness to the seat occupied sensor connector.
  5. Install the seat back to the seat cushion, and then install new bolts (x4) to attach the seat back to the cushion.
    Torque 43 Nm
  6. Install the seatbelt buckle. See Buckle - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the seat heater connectors to the seat underside, and then fasten the clips that attach the connectors to the seat underside.
  8. Connect the electrical harness to the seat heater connectors.
  9. Install the electrical harness to the seat frame, and then fasten the clips that attach the electrical harness to the seat frame.
  10. Connect the electrical harness to the lumbar pump connector.
  11. Connect the electrical harness to the ECU connector.
  12. Connect the electrical harness to the recliner motor connector.
  13. Install the side airbag to the seat frame, and then install new nuts to attach the airbag to the frame.
    Torque 5.4 Nm
  14. Connect the electrical harness to the side airbag connector.
  15. Fasten the clips that attach the outboard side of the seat back cover to the seat back frame.
  16. Hook the upper flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
  17. Hook the lower flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
  18. Install the seat back shell to the seat. See Shell - Seat Back - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the inner side shield to the seat, and then fasten the clips that attach the shield to the seat.
  20. Install the side outer cover to the driver seat. See Cover - Outer Side - Driver Seat (Remove and Install).
  21. Install the driver headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  22. Install the driver seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
1Install the seat cushion foam to the seat cushion frame, and then fasten the clips (x3) that attach the foam to the frame at the outboard and inboard sides, and at the front.
Note: Make sure that the seat heater connector and seat occupied sensor assembly passes through the seat suspension or frame.
2Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the seat cushion foam to the seat suspension.
3Install the seat occupied sensor to the seat underside, and then fasten the clip that attaches the sensor to the seat underside.
4Connect the electrical harness to the seat occupied sensor connector.
5Install the seat back to the seat cushion, and then install new bolts (x4) to attach the seat back to the cushion.
Torque 43 Nm
6Install the seatbelt buckle. See Buckle - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
7Install the seat heater connectors to the seat underside, and then fasten the clips that attach the connectors to the seat underside.
8Connect the electrical harness to the seat heater connectors.
9Install the electrical harness to the seat frame, and then fasten the clips that attach the electrical harness to the seat frame.
10Connect the electrical harness to the lumbar pump connector.
11Connect the electrical harness to the ECU connector.
12Connect the electrical harness to the recliner motor connector.
13Install the side airbag to the seat frame, and then install new nuts to attach the airbag to the frame.
Torque 5.4 Nm
14Connect the electrical harness to the side airbag connector.
15Fasten the clips that attach the outboard side of the seat back cover to the seat back frame.
16Hook the upper flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
17Hook the lower flaps that cover the LH and RH lower corners of the seat back frame.
18Install the seat back shell to the seat. See Shell - Seat Back - Driver (Remove and Replace).
19Install the inner side shield to the seat, and then fasten the clips that attach the shield to the seat.
20Install the side outer cover to the driver seat. See Cover - Outer Side - Driver Seat (Remove and Install).
21Install the driver headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace).
22Install the driver seat. See Seat - Driver (Remove and Replace).
