Remove

Animated demonstration
  1. Turn off the climate control system.
  2. Remove the RH side center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the screw that attaches the cabin filter cover to the HVAC module, and then move the cabin filter cover aside.
  5. Fold the filter tabs outward, and then pull the upper filter out of the filter housing.
  6. After the upper filter is removed, raise the lower filter up and out of the filter housing.
1Turn off the climate control system.
2Remove the RH side center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
3Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
4Remove the screw that attaches the cabin filter cover to the HVAC module, and then move the cabin filter cover aside.
5Fold the filter tabs outward, and then pull the upper filter out of the filter housing.
6After the upper filter is removed, raise the lower filter up and out of the filter housing.

Install

  1. Install the lower filter into the filter housing, with the arrows pointing to the rear of the vehicle.
  2. Install the upper filter into the filter housing, with the arrows pointing to the rear of the vehicle, and then fold the filter tabs inward.
  3. Install the cabin filter cover onto the HVAC module, and then install the screw that attaches the cabin filter cover to the HVAC module.
    Torque 1.2 Nm
    Note: Engage the lower cover tab before fastening the cover.
  4. Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the RH side center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
1Install the lower filter into the filter housing, with the arrows pointing to the rear of the vehicle.
2Install the upper filter into the filter housing, with the arrows pointing to the rear of the vehicle, and then fold the filter tabs inward.
3Install the cabin filter cover onto the HVAC module, and then install the screw that attaches the cabin filter cover to the HVAC module.
Torque 1.2 Nm
Note: Engage the lower cover tab before fastening the cover.
4Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace).
5Install the RH side center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
